Bioethanol E85

Bioethanol (also known as superethanol) is a renewable, non-fossil fuel produced from plant-based raw materials, also known as biomass. In France and Europe, ethanol is made from cereals such as wheat or sugar beets. Ethanol is the most commonly used biofuel worldwide, primarily for gasoline engines.

To make superethanol E85, ethanol (alcohol) is mixed with between 15% and 35% unleaded gasoline, depending on the season or intended use. For example, E85 ethanol consists of a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% unleaded gasoline.

It is an environmentally friendly fuel. During the combustion of bioethanol, CO2 emissions and other harmful particles are reduced by more than 50% compared to regular gasoline.

Bioethanol is a biofuel used in many European countries as well as in North and South America.

The number of gas stations offering bioethanol continues to increase. There are now nearly 3,700 in France. In Sweden, there are 1,732 stations where you can refuel with E85 ethanol. In the United States, over 4,200 public stations offer high-blend ethanol. In Brazil, the world leader in ethanol, there are 32,030 stations selling ethanol (93% of all gas stations in Brazil).
